Name Author and Poet Alexander Roman
Age. I’m 38 years old.

Where are you from… I am from Elizabeth, New Jersey but I know reside in Stafford County Virginia.
A little about your self and your education Family life etc.

Well I’m a Federal Law Enforcement Officer in Washington, DC and a former U.S. Marine I have an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement. I am married with 3 children ages 19, 17, and 8.

Alex…. Tell us your latest news?
I am eager to get started on my second book and I’m studying new forms of poetry and writing to enhance the product I put out to the people that like my work.

Alex: When and why did you begin writing?
Honestly a lot of people don’t believe me but I have been only writing for about a year or so.
Alex.. When did you first consider yourself a writer? After about my 20th poem or so I saw that I had something I could offer to the world and show them that true and unconditional love is alive and well.

Alex: What inspired you to write your first book? My wife Jessica she is my inspiration and the reason I started to write.

Alex…. Do you have a specific writing style?
I would say Prose and some Free Verse.
Alex: How did you come up with the title?
My poetry comes to my mind as visions in places in different times so I thought the name of my first book would be perfect if I named it “Visions Of Poetry”.
Alex: Is there a message in your poetry? Absolutely, I believe in true, passionate, extraordinary, and unconditional love I try and relate those messages in my poems even though I also write “Darker” poetry as far as heartbreaks go, but mostly I write about love.
Alex…: What books have most influenced your life most? Honestly I would have to say the Holy Bible the poetry in there is beyond beautiful and it is also God’s word so what better book than that lol 😉

Alex: If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor? C.S Lewis even though he was more of a novelist than a poet his quotes inspire me to be a better man. I would also have to include Edgar Allen Poe who was a brilliant poet.

Alex: What book are you reading now?
I am mainly reading quotes from different authors for inspiration and knowledge like Maya Angelou and Anais Nin.

Alex: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? The new authors I have met recently on my path to becoming a published author like yourself and Barry and Susan have inspired me to write more than ever.

Alex: What are your current projects? I am continuing to write and expand on my poetry to complete my 2nd book.
..

Alex…: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.

My fans , people who truly are inspired and believe in my words and ideas.

Alex… Do you see writing as a career?
Yes I do, I will keep writing and publishing as long as someone out there is still being inspired and enjoying my writing I will continue.
Alex..: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book? I would have made some of the poems longer, even though when I finished them at the time they were exactly how I wanted them.

Alex…: Do you recall how your interest in writing originated? The love for my wife Jessica was so powerful and metaphorical that I felt this overwhelming sensation to describe it on paper and a poet was born from that.

ALEXADN JESSICA

Alex: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Trying to come up with new ways to describe certain ideas and to keep it Interesting for my readers.

Alex…. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Edgar Allan Poe I would have to say his work is so dark but brilliant his style of writing and the way he displays his vivid descriptions is out of this world not bad for a man who sometimes would write intoxicated, if I could write half that good sober I would be ok lol.
Alex: Who designed the covers?

My publisher Barry Mowles did.

Alex: What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Trying to articulate the words in my poems to capture the readers attention and paint beautiful pictures of the story in their minds.

Alex: Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

I learned that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication and I find myself applying the principles in my poetry in my real life.

Alex: Do you have any advice for other writers?

Don’t ever quit, if you have any ideas at anytime whether on a train, while your trying to sleep, anywhere you are write your ideas and stanzas down even if all you have is a cocktail napkin lol because sometimes your best ideas come at the least expected moments.
Alex: Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

I would like to thank you all for your support and your feedback. I appreciate that because I write to inspire others and to make people believe in true unconditional love.
Alex: Do you remember the first book you read? I think it was Cat In The Hat by Dr. Seuss lol 😉
Alex: Other than writing do you have any hobbies ?

Yes, I like to spend time with my family, And I love to play Poker.
Alex: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching? I like mostly all genres because they each have something different to offer but my favorite are gangster movies as well as drama films.
Alex…: Favorite foods / Colors/ Music

My favorite foods are Spanish and Italian dishes. Colors I would have to say Black and Red. Music oh boy that’s a tough one because I literally like every Genre a lot, but if I must pick I would say the older Hip Hop, EDM, Freestyle, and classical mixed with dubstep.

Alex: If you were not a writer what else would you like to have done?

Doing what I am dong now….  Police Officer, I am a blessed man 🙂
