Megan Goff is a locally published poet who just published her first poetry, Penned Straight From The Heart. It is now available on Lulu, Amazon and it is also available for your Amazon Kindle. She has lived on Long Island her entire life without her mother, grandmother and uncle. She is also a musician who plays flute and keyboard as well as singing acapella.

Debbie, yes so far I have another book I am working on for the near future.

George is the smartest man I know and he is my boyfriend of four years now and a wonderful person.

I Won’t Make Your Mistakes
As i stand here my mind wanders
It ponders
All the things that I’ve been through
You weren’t there to see me grow
My personality you did not know
I’ve dealt with it in my own way
I don’t even think I’d want to meet you today
Psychologists say I have anger issues
I think you’re the one with issues
You left your daughter before she was even born
Filling her little heart with scorn
For a father she’ll never get to know
Because you decided to let her go
I vow one thing will be true
I’ll never make the same mistakes as you.

A Song From My Heart
I’m asking for more time
To mend these broken wings
I’ll get my heart in rhyme
I know I’ve asked of you so many things
So grant me this last wish
I ask for one more try
And please don’t question why
I know it’s hard to understand
How it could take so long
To mend this broken heart
And for me to sing a happy song
Some day that day will come
And I pray you’ll still be there
But if you’re not I’m well aware
How difficult it’s been
There’s nothing else you could have done
So don’t even think that way
Whatever happens when this is done
In my heart you’ll always stay

Damaged Soul
How can someone love this damaged soul
How can someone fill this empty hole
Within my heart
Some many nights I laid awake
Feelings of desperation I couldn’t shake
I’m so alone
Questioning every move I make
Is this the step that I should take
I’m on my own
Wonder every single day
When love will come my way
I’m all alone
Then one day it changed
My life was rearranged
I saw your face
You made me realize
Damage was not my demise
I’m stronger now
Someone loves this damaged soul
I don’t need someone else to make me while
I’m smiling now

Debbie, Other than writing, one of my favorite things is music. When I can combine the two, it is even more amazing.
I also love to go to New York City with my mother to go see Broadway shows.
Probably the most important thing to me in my life is my family
