Here is the interview.

Name K.C. Rice
Age 47
Where are you from… Frankfort, KY

“Hi K, it has been so great to get to know you, tell the audience a little about your self `ie your education Family life etc?”

I took a few semesters in early childhood education, but stopped to raise my family and concentrate solely on them.
I have been married 27 yrs we have three adult children and two grandkids.

“Awesome K, tell us your latest news?”
I just published my first novel, Kaycee’s Tattered Spirit.
It is available in both ebooks and print copies.

“Tell us, when and why did you begin writing?”
I’ve always had an active imagination, being raised in a very low income family, I didn’t have a lot of toys or friends. So I made up my own sceneries and played alone.
A few years ago I went to an authors meet and greet called Pens on Fire at our local library, hosting the local authors from our state. I had a blast talking with them, I felt right at home and they encouraged me to give it a try.
“That is awesome, when did you first consider yourself a writer?”
The very first time I held a printed copy of Kaycee’s Tattered Spirit in my hands.
It was surreal. I teared up and was so emotional.

“Wow that had to have been a wonderful feeling, what inspired you to write your first book?”
I just wanted to see if I could do it, if I’d like it and if people would like what I wrote.

“Do you have a specific writing style?”
Romance/ Erotica
I’d like to try my hand in a YA… Focusing on middle schoolers and what they are faced with in today’s world. I work in Special Education at the middle school level. I see so much that these kids are influenced and have to deal with in today’s world. I’d like to write a book addressing that and alternatives . I think it would be so cool to have one of my books in the school’s library I teach. And to think of making a difference is remarkable.

“That would be a great book, how did you come up with the title of your latest book?”
Oh my goodness… The title was the such a challenge; arguing, research, more arguing and finally tweaking it to please everyone. I knew what I wanted – convincing others was a little challenging.
“Is there a message in your poetry?”
I’m not really much of a poet but love it!
I have a dear poet friend, Poet Petere whom does most of my poetry pieces.
I did write a poem called , “Taken Away.” That fits well with The Tattered Series.
“What books have most influenced your life most?”
I love anything by Denise Grover Swank, Liliana Hart, and TK Leigh
“If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?”
Denise Grover Swank
“What book are you reading now?”
Chasing the Dragon by TK Leigh

“Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?”
David S Scott, Brant Landon
“Tell us what are your current projects?”
Working on book two “Reconciled” of the Tattered Series as I complete this interview,
I hope to have it completed and available this winter.
“Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of  family members.”
Jason Brown, he kept me focused and kicked me in the ass numerous times when I wanted to give up. He taught me a lot throughout the process… Some things painful but eye opening and something’s joyful all in all it was all things were beneficial to the birthing process.
“K, Do you see writing as a career?”

Hopefully one day
“If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?”
Everything within the process was a learning experience for me… I’m sure there are a few things I would change, but what I’m not quite sure.
“Do you recall how your interest in writing originated? “
Not really, I never liked reading or writing as a child though I always got good grades.
Perhaps it was hidden deep in my subconscious waiting for the right time to appear.
“Can you share a little of your current work with us?”
“Reconciled” Kaycee has found her independence, she enjoys working with internal Affairs in the art forgery department. She is still very much in love with Mason, though she knows she shouldn’t be, her heart refuses to listen to her head.
She and Mason reunite when they find they both are working on the same case…
The passion between them is still as strong as ever…. Until tragedy strikes……
“Awesome, I cant wait to purchase that book also… Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?”
Wanting to kill someone off but my BETA readers refuse to let me

“Ha ha, I understand… Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?”

Denise Grover Swank, she’s a beautiful woman inside and out. She has taught me so much and I am forever in her debt.
“I have to say I love your book cover who designed the cover?”
Darkmantle Designs
“What was the hardest part of writing your book?”
The synopsis
“Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?”
Perseverance, don’t quit, forward progress stay focused and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do it.
“Do you have any advice for other writers?”
Don’t give up.’always have a notebook with you, because those voices and characters will pop up in the most inop time…
“K, Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?”
I hope you enjoy my stories, that my characters come alive and you want more.
“Do you remember the first book you read?”
Yes, “P.S. I love You”

“What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?”
I don’t watch tv – movies: love musicals
…: Favorite foods / Colors/ Music –
