Interview with Christian Author Ruthie Madison

Digital Camera

I am here with Ruthie Derby Madison Christian and Author of two books.
Hello Ruthie, it is so nice to meet you and to get to know you as an Author and a Christian and a friend.
Let’s start the interview.

“Author Ruthie, tell me about yourself where were you born and explain the town etc. And where do you live now?”

“Debbie, I was born in San Jose, California, but I lived most of my life in Hanford, CA. Hanford is a much smaller town than San Jose. It is located in the valley where it doesn’t get much rain. It is an agricultural town. We have lived here since 1972 because my father wanted to live close to his mother and she grew up here.”

“Ruthie, I love California. I used to live in Monterrey, and I loved it. Ruthie, tell me about your writing, why do you like it so much?”

“Debbie, for me, writing is a way of escape. When I write, I am in another world. Most of my stories are wish fulfillment–I write something I wish I could experience because my own life is dull of uninteresting.”

“Ruthie, I know what you mean, where do you get your inspiration from?”

“Debbie, I get it from The Lord. He gives me the ideas, but sometimes another author might give me an idea and I want to experiment.”

“Ruthie, have you written any books? If you have, tell us all about it, and give us your links to your books.”

“Debbie, I have written two books. They are;
‘A Second Chance At Love’ which is a mainstream romance. It starts out secular because the heroine does not have a relationship with God until later in her life.
It is about a woman who gets a second chance when she didn’t ask for it. A man sees potential in her and wants to transform her and make her into a model, but more than that, his wife. Unbeknownst to her, one of his employees is her former Italian lover but they don’t recognize each other. The one who gets her heart first is Jesus then he gives her hearts desires.”

‘The Past Hunter;’ When the Past Comes Calling is about a woman who has to make a decision. Six years earlier (Chapter 2 takes you there) she saw her ex-boyfriend bring in a body in a carpet and assumed the worst. She packs up and moves without telling anyone. Six years later, he comes calling for her. It is a Christian Romance. It is also about second chances”.

“Wow Ruthie, I am so impressed, I can’t wait to read your books. Tell me about your writing style.”

“Debbie, I can only say that my writing style is free flow, I really don’t follow any pattern and methods. AS for POV it is mostly third person (Using her and or him) I hope that is what you mean.”

“Yes Ruthie, thank you so much. That’s exactly what I mean and now give some advice to new writers!”

“Debbie, Count the cost. When I started writing no one edited for me and my first book was badly formatted. However, if you are an English major that might be for your advantage, but never let anyone tell you, that you can’t write!
Also: read, read, and read. The more you do, the more you will get ideas and an idea how others write. Emboli!”

“Ruthie I agree with you, tell me something personal about you.”

“Well Debbie, I just had a hysterectomy a few weeks ago.”

“OH Ruthie I am so sorry I hope all is well, you are in my prayers. I want to stop now and pray for you, Dear Lord in Heaven we come before you and pray for your servant Ruthie, for her health and her books. We thank you Lord Jesus for who you are and for your promises. In Jesus Name I pray, amen.”

“Ruthie on a lighter note, tell me about your favorite bands, music.”

“Debbie, I mostly listen to Christian music. I like praise and worship. Once in a while I will listen to country music.”

“Ruthie, what is your favorite thing in the world to do?”

“Debbie, Write, but more than anything I would like to teach.”

“Ruthie, what is your favorite Book you have written?”

“Debbie, my favorite book was ‘A Second Chance at Love.’

“Ruthie, do you like to write poems or stories best?

“Debbie I like Stories the best.”

“Ruthie, what are your final thoughts?”

“Debbie, it is hard to find an editor at a low price esp. one that is not alternating between manuscripts. If anything I wish I could edit my own work.”

“Ruthie, I agree dear friend. Thank you so much, for letting me interview you. God Bless you and keep you and yours and I pray you prosper.”
